Welcome to the new REAL website launched on 26 September 2010, the European Day of Languages!
Check out the new REAL website!
Get informed!
The REAL website aims to provide information about the most important language events across the continent. The News about languages section monitors the vast range of European events (conferences, training courses, publications) being held, News about associations focuses on events and activities being carried out by language teacher associations belonging to the REAL Network. News about REAL provides the latest on the activities of the Network itself. The calendar, newsletter and the RSS feeds allow you to keep a track of what’s happening in languages across Europe. The REAL website also provides a range of online resources aimed at teachers and association leaders.
Exchange and give your view!
The website puts the ball in your court. Would you like to react to an event or a discussion? Post up your comments online! Do you feel like expressing your opinion on a topic? Take part in our monthly polls designed to make sure the Network is in touch with the teaching community in Europe. Your suggestions for topics, news items and other contents are always most welcome. Get in touch! You might also like to send us a translation of an article : just send us the translated version along with the original article to animateur[at]real-association.eu. To take part, simply create an account. It’s free of charge!
Sign up to be a member!
To take full advantage of all the website’s features (to publish articles or use the first pan-European directory of language teacher associations), you will need to belong to a REAL member association. Ask your association leaders to contact us to find out more.
Setting up a multilingual and interactive platform for hundreds of thousands association members is a tall order! When surfing around our website, you may come across a few minor bugs… what’s more some features, such as the association directory are not yet public at this stage. The site will continue to be developed right up until December 2010 at which point the full range of functions will be made available. In order to ensure your first visit to the website is as smooth as possible, we’ve prepared a short tutorial video. We introduce you to the main features of the site and explain how you can get involved online.
Happy browsing!

Congratulations!
This is a fantastic initiative, very useful. Keep up the good work!

Congratulations!
I think REAL is a great opportunity for European languages teachers. We can stay informed and keep up to date with languages news, find out about activities being carried by colleagues. We can exchange ideas and share about good practices held in classrooms. I joined on 28 September 2010 and I'm going to become a member.
