Tire ta langue ! - Stick out your tongue!

Tire ta langue is a French radio programme, broadcasted on France Culture, that explore the French language and multilingualism through discussions with philosophers, autors, actors, writers, journalists, linguists and others.

Each programme lasts about 30 minutes and focuses on :

  • The defense and illustration of the French language and the Francophonie, but also the discovery of a foreign language: Day of the Francophonie. What language for science? The French mishandled at the UN. How terminology commissions work?...;
  • The evolution of modern French, its regional variations or corporate, those who seize them, those who study such trends: New forms of slang. From popular language to populist talk. The language of China and chips. The language of ecology...;
  • The analysis of an author or a genre: The language of Marivaux. The hoax. The controversy. The nursery rhymes.
