Seminar in Iasi (Romania) on 'REALise your potential!', 4-6 June 2010
Themes at the seminar included making association’s voices heard at regional, national and EU level; diversifying income streams; strategies for the political representation of associations, marketing and communications, quality assurance; professional development and working together for languages education in the Europe.
Speakers included Steven Fawkes, from the Association for Language Learning (ALL) in the UK; Julian Serrano from the Association de professeurs de français de Cuenca and the Fédération espagnole d’associations de professeurs de français (FEAPF) in Spain, and Silvia Minardi from Lingua e Nuova Didattica (LEND) in Italy. Delegates also had the chance to exchange ideas, share best practice and network with colleagues from language teacher associations across Europe.
Feedback from delegates was very positive:
“Jonathan Hooley’s workshop offered new ideas on how to find new income sources inside and outside an association. Julian Serrano’s workshop was beautifully heart spoken and it proved his emotional involvement in everything he does. Excellent work! I hope we'll meet again in the next four seminars.”
“I particularly enjoyed Stephanie Favre's workshop for all its practical aspects and the new perspective it offered on assessing events and quality as seen from another perspective.”
“When I arrived, I hoped the seminar would be useful. Now when it has just finished, I can say that the seminar has gone beyond my expectations. It has given me information, practical ideas and hope for the future of my association.”
We will very shortly be publishing the results of our work on this website. Check out the “Activity” section of the REAL website for details of the three REAL seminars to be organised in 2011.
