Nordand 10: Conference on Nordic languages as a second and foreign language, Reykjavík (Iceland)

The tenth conference on the Nordic languages as second and foreign language will take place on 25-28 May 2011 in Reykjavík (Iceland). The conference has three main themes: Complexity, Motivation and Output in Language Learning (including teaching and learning vocabulary, as well as CALL in language learning).

  • Professor Diane Larsen-Freeman –  Chaos/Complexity Theory:  The Boundlessness of Potentiality
  • Professor Ema Ushioda – The place of motivation in complexity theory perspectives on L2 learning

Plenaries

  • Guðrún Theódórsdóttir – The disappearance of the Language Learner.  ‘Identity’ in Second Language Acquisition from a CA-SLA perspective.
  • Juni Søderberg Arnfast – "... but I feel like a clown." On adult learners articulation of motivation to learn Danish pronunciation.
  • Per Holmberg – Genrepedagogik för flerspråkiga elever. - En diskussion av möjligheter och begränsningar utifrån pågående klassrumsforskning
