In this lecture Christoph Edelhoff (The English Academy) takes a look at task-based learning in the European context. The presentation was given at the seminar organised by the European Network of Language Teacher Associations: REAL "Bringing Europe into the Foreign Languages Classroom, Augsburg (Germany)" in September 2010.
The English workshop of the REAL seminar “How to motivate students: innovation and creativity in the language classroom” took place at the Department for Polish Language and Culture in the World. The English workshop was run by Elisabeth Fotheringham, independent language consultant and was attended by 19 teachers of English from countries from the UK to Greece.
Over the last three years the REAL2 project, co-financed by the European Commission, has been working to set up a Network of Language Teacher Associations in the form of a sustainable membership organisation. The final seminar was an opportunity to look back upon what has been achieved so far and to give potential members more information on the Network’s future activities.
This year, TESOL France celebrates 30 years of sharing knowledge, experience and best practices in English language teaching in France. The 30th annual International TESOL France Colloquim will be held in Paris, France.
The V-Lang Project 2011 Conference on “'Future Language Learning Now: Innovative Applications and Methods for Language Training” will be held November 17 in Warsaw, Poland.

Le 4ème Symposium EUNoM à Belfast portera sur le multilinguisme dans l'économie du savoir : le marché du travail revisité et la responsabilité sociale des entreprises. Il est organisée par l'Université Queen de Belfast, (Irlande du Nord) et aura lieu les 14 et15 Novembre 2011.
A summer school on the theme of 'Bilingualism and Multilingualism' will be held at Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona (Spain) from 12 to 15 September 2011.
La 3e édition de la conférence "Les TICE pour l'apprentissage des langues", qui se tiendra à Florence (Italie) les 11 et 12 novembre 2010, vise à promouvoir et à partager les bonnes pratiques et la coopération transnationale dans le domaine de l'application des TICE à l'apprentissage des langues et la formation. La conférence est aussi une excellente occasion de présenter les projets actuels et antérieurs dans le domaine de l'apprentissage des langues qui ont financés par la Commission européenne et autres.
