Asignación de fondos adicionales a la educación, la juventud y la creatividad

En el marco de su estrategia de fomento del empleo, la Comisión Europea tiene previsto duplicar prácticamente el número de jóvenes, profesores e investigadores que reciben becas de la UE para estudiar y formarse en el extranjero, que pasaría de 400 000 beneficiarios anuales en la actualidad a casi 800 000 en el futuro. Es esencial mejorar la educación y la formación y ayudar a los jóvenes a adquirir las capacidades adecuadas para colmar las necesidades de los futuros empleos y combatir la pobreza.

En Europa existen aproximadamente 70 fronteras entre países. De ellas, 25 son además fronteras lingüísticas. A través de eTwinning, muchos centros educativos están cruzando dichas fronteras gracias al aprendizaje del idioma de sus vecinos. Los proyectos de eTwinning entre países vecinos son ideales para el aprendizaje de idiomas porque permiten a los alumnos no sólo enriquecer sus habilidades cognitivas en términos de adquisición del lenguaje, sino también sus habilidades académicas y sociales.
