Disabled Access Friendly Campaign

The Disabled Access Friendly campaign aims to sensitise students to issues affecting people with mobility disability. Its reaches people through the teaching of English as a foreign language. The website provides teachers with free teaching material that can be used in class, for projects or examination practice, but at the same time stimulates students to put themselves in the shoes of someone with a mobility/disability, for a better understanding of their needs and feelings.

Eurêkol - Unterrichtsmaterialien über Europa

Das Projekt Eurêkol bietet Grundschullehrer/innen Unterrichtsmaterialien, die das Thema „Europäischen Union“ auf spielerische und originelle Art aufbereiten. Eurêkol gliedert sich in folgende sechs Themenkomplexe: die Geschichte der europäischen Integration, die Symbole der EU, die europäischen Institutionen, der Euro, die europäische Landwirtschaft und die Geographie des Kontinents Europa.

The European Profiling Grid Project

The EPG project is co-funded by the French national agency 2E2F. It is being developed by a consortium of 11 European partners and led by CIEP (24 month /2011-2013). The aim of the project is to help improve the quality and effectiveness of language training by providing an instrument that will improve competences and aid the supply and mobility of language teachers.

European Cooperation for Regional Language Broadcasting Conference, Cardiff (UK)

The Network to Promote Linguistic Diversity (NPLD) and the Welsh television channel S4C are holding a joint conference, entitled ‘European Cooperation for Regional Language Broadcasting’. The conference will be held in Cardiff, Wales on 8th-9th December 2011.

Neues EU Programm - "Erasmus für alle"

"Erasmus für alle" ist das neue EU-Programm für allgemeine und berufliche Bildung, Jugend und Sport, das die Europäische Kommission am 23. November 2011 vorgelegt hat. Der Programmvorschlag wird nun vom Rat (den 27 Mitgliedstaaten) und vom Europäischen Parlament erörtert, die über den endgültigen Finanzrahmen 2014-2020 entscheiden.

A new website allowing distance-learning of the Icelandic language has been officially opened by the Vigdis Finnbogadottir Institute of Foreign Languages. The website is called icelandiconline.is and is open to internet users everywhere.
