'Languages and Children’s Literature' for European teachers, Sèvres (France)

The Centre international d’études pédagogiques (CIEP) in partnership with the French section of International Board on Books for Young people/French National Centre on Books for Young People is holding a training course called 'Languages and Children’s Literature'. It will take place in Sèvres (France) from 4-7 April 2011 and will give European teachers a cultural, historical and teaching overview of children’s literature in Europe.

One stop teachers is launching 'Mini-plays'

One stop english is launching a new series of mini-plays, bringing a slice of contemporary British life to English lessons. Each play includes a downloadable mp3 file, student worksheets with listening and language actvities and teacher’s notes, complete with tips to get the most out of the material.

Parents speaking at least one foreign language are becoming more and more natural throughout Europe. At the same time, very few of these multilingual parents dare bring a foreign language to their children. The project aims at developing a set of support materials that will help parents acquire skills necessary for introducing a foreign language to their children aged 4-6. The materials will require neither professional pedagogical nor linguistic education from the parents.
