Im Rahmen ihrer Strategie zur Förderung der Beschäftigung hat sich die Europäische Kommission das Ziel gesetzt, die Zahl der jungen Menschen, Lehrkräfte und Forscher, die EU-Stipendien für Studien- und Fortbildungsaufenthalte im Ausland erhalten, zu verdoppeln. Um den künftigen Qualifikationsbedarf zu decken, ist es besonders wichtig, die Qualität der allgemeinen und beruflichen Bildung zu verbessern und dafür zu sorgen, dass die Menschen die richtigen Kompetenzen und Qualifikationen erwerben.
