REAL-TICE - How to get the most out of ICT in the languages classroom, Madrid

Seminar

Wed, 22/06/2011 - 14:00 - Sat, 25/06/2011 - 13:00
REAL-TICE

ICT is playing an ever-increasing role in the languages classroom helping to motivate students and facilitate language acquisition. Ever fancied taking some time out to get up to speed with all the latest ICT tools? Want help deciding what’s hot and what’s not? Then join us for our June seminar in Madrid (Spain).

Our Objectives

Our seminar will enable participants to:

  • share their concerns, ideas and experiences about the world of teaching and learning languages;
  • find out about new solutions on how to bring technology into their teaching practices;
  • learn how to develop their students’ digital competences;
  • get to know more about the new European Network of Language Teacher Associations (REAL).

Our Approach

The seminar will be based around three types of activities led by experienced trainers from associations, schools and universities:

  • Plenary sessions to set out the wider context of the seminar topics interpreted simultaneously;
  • Practical workshops to share good practice on language learning and teaching using ICT;
  • A roundtable for exchange and critical engagement between specialists and teachers on the most important topics affecting teachers.

In addition to these more formal sessions, there will be a whole host of opportunities for informal networking and dialogue.

Participants will have the possibility to display disseminate material from the projects and association activities that they are already involved in. All sessions will provide adequate time for questions and answers.

The Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) will award credits to seminar participants.

Languages

The REAL network is firmly in favour of protecting European linguistic diversity. The seminar’s working languages will therefore include: French, English, Spanish and Portuguese.
