Making It REAL - Final Project Seminar - Module, November 2011, Sèvres (France)

Over the last three years the REAL2 project, co-financed by the European Commission, has been working to set up a Network of Language Teacher Associations in the form of a sustainable membership organisation. The final seminar was an opportunity to look back upon what has been achieved so far and to give potential members more information on the Network’s future activities.

The conference set out to:

  • find out more about how the new European Network of Language Teacher Associations (REAL) is working to support associations and defend linguistic diversity in Europe
  • share concerns, ideas and experiences about the world of teaching and learning languages
  • get practical tips and ideas on how to run an association
  • debate and exchange about key aspects of linguistic policy affecting language teachers and learn more about ways to shape this.

Resources

The results of REAL seminars have been compiled in the Association Resources section of our website. As our network grows, we hope to be able to add to this bank of resources drawing on the input and advice of all of our members. We believe that one of REAL’s core responsibilities should be to help our members strengthen their organisation by drawing on each others’ own knowledge.
