The Spanish Ministry of Education is offering grants for Teachers of Spanish in the U.K to attend University Summer Courses in Spain. The Consejería encourage interested teachers to participate. The application deadline is 30 April 2011.

Mandarin teaching in schools to benefit from new UK-China partnership

British Education Secretary Michael Gove announced a pioneering new partnership with China to train 1000 more Mandarin teachers for secondary schools in England. According to the Department for Education, Mandarin is an increasingly popular subject choice for GCSE, but there are only around 100 qualified Mandarin teachers in England at the moment, and only 16 per cent of secondary schools offered Chinese language teaching in 2009.

The association No Man's Langues organizes a competition for highschool pupils in France that will take place from 5 October 2010 to 19 March 2011. Prizes are comics worth 300 euros.
